travel united states california huntington beach duke's

Lynn and I took her mother to Duke's, Huntington Beach, for Thanksgiving dinner and the setting was beautiful with the sun beginning to set over the beach and pier.
I had high expectations for a great meal... one that would match the high prices.
We ordered calamari for a starter and it was quite good and, then, Lynn and I ordered the lobster tail and the prime rib and we shared.
Lynn's mother ordered the traditional turkey dinner. The turkey, at $29, was dry. The prime rib, at $34, was of good size, but only average in taste.
Lynn thought the lobster, at $44, was excellent... I thought it was decent.
The service was quite good, but the dinningroom was very noisy.

If we had paid a normal price for the food, I would have rated it good to very good... At the price we paid, it should have been better and I rated it only average.
The only thing above average was the calamari dip and the entertaining parade of "Housewives of the O.C." wannabes who strutted through the restaurant in their tight jeans,
high boots, jewelry, and botox-inflated pouts.
